Another Bout in ‘Boxing’ Case: A Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Wednesday reduced from $8.9 million to $7.4 million the amount actress Kim Basinger must pay to Main Line Pictures for her refusal to play the lead role in the film “Boxing Helena.” Judge Judith Chirlin also awarded Main Line’s two attorneys $713,522 in attorneys’ fees, which Basinger must pay over and above the $7.4 million. Independent production company Main Line contended it lost between $5.1 million to $10 million in profits when Basinger backed out of the offbeat project and was replaced with Sherilyn Fenn. Basinger said a written contract did not exist. A jury found for the production company after a March trial.
