Unocal, Mesa Inc. Trial Postponed: Mesa Inc. said the trial for the lawsuit brought against it by Unocal Corp. will be delayed until Oct. 12 because of the court’s calendar. The trial was scheduled to begin on June 8 in Federal District Court for the Central District of California. The lawsuit related to its 1985 purchase of a stake in Unocal. Unocal alleges that Mesa was technically an “insider” and therefore should be stripped of its profit on the subsequent disposition of the Unocal stock.
