MISSION VIEJO : Yearly Trash Pickup of Bulky Items Slated
The city’s Spring Cleanup Day--the annual opportunity for residents to dispose of bulky furniture and appliances at no cost--will take place Saturday.
Homeowners and renters must put the items to be disposed of on the curb no later than 6:30 a.m. to ensure pickup by waste collectors.
“We hope that residents throughout the city will take advantage of this great opportunity to get rid of unwanted bulky items at no extra charge simply by placing them at the curb,” said Mayor Robert D. Breton.
The trash collection is being done by Waste Management of Orange County Inc., the city’s refuse hauler.
Items that will be picked up include carpets, mattresses, furniture, major household appliances and other objects too large for weekly disposal.
Trash haulers will not accept certain types of refuse, including hazardous waste (paints, batteries, oil and automotive products), automobile parts, dirt, sod and concrete.
