Long jumper Larry Myricks, a four-time Olympian and the 1988 bronze medalist, said he will retire after this season because he no longer can reach “a certain level you have to attain” to be competitive.
Myricks, 37, will retire after the World Championships at Stuttgart, Germany, in August, so he can have a shot at another medal. He has won two bronze medals in the event.
