If you win the grand prize in Martini & Rossi’s “The State of Dessert” contest, you’ll get a free trip to New York, a famous chef to prepare your entry, and a Frigidaire refrigerator filled with desserts. Martini & Rossi is looking for the perfect dessert to go with Asti Spumante, and they’ve gone slightly over the top. They’ve awarded each state an “official ingredient”; California gets the almond, which means all California entries must contain almonds. Each recipe must also contain a complete list of ingredients and quantities, followed by detailed instructions, numbered in sequence, for preparation. Although it is not mandatory, they say a picture of the finished dessert would be helpful.
