American Oilmen Freed in Yemen
Associated Press
SANA, Yemen —
Tribesmen freed two American oilmen Saturday after holding them for five days in an effort to gain freedom for imprisoned clansmen.
Harvel Bennett, 37, of Doyline, La., and Bob Hicks, 57, a Texan who lives in Aberdeen, Scotland, traveled to Sana after being released, officials said. They were said to be in good health.
The circumstances of the release were unknown, but authorities had said they opposed making any concessions to kidnapers.
