Sunland Camp Plans Field Trips, Sports

Children from Sunland-Tujunga can go on field trips to places like Universal Studios and Huntington Beach through the Sunland Recreation Center’s Summer Day Camp program.

The summer day camp program will cost $50 a week. The camp runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For $60 a week, children can get extended care, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Perkins said.

The recreation center also operates a swimming pool about a mile away at Irma and Hillrose avenues. Children 12 and younger pay 50 cents a day to swim and adults pay $1, Perkins said. The pool opens June 26 and closes Sept. 5.
