Ford to Install More Dual Air Bags: Ford Motor Co. said it will make driver and passenger air bags standard in 13 of its 17 car lines beginning with the 1994 models this fall, excluding the Ford Escort, Mercury Tracer, Ford Tempo and Mercury Topaz. Five Ford car lines now have dual front-seat air bags as standard equipment, and two car lines have passenger-side bags as options. Among its trucks and vans, Ford said it is adding standard driver-side air bags in the 1994 model F-series full-size pickups, the Ford Bronco and Mercury Villager. Federal regulations require dual air bags in all cars by the 1998 model year and all trucks by 1999.
