Board Approves Raises for Teachers
Ending a year of negotiations, trustees of the Rio Elementary School District in Oxnard unanimously ratified two union contracts.
Approved at a board meeting Wednesday night were two-year contracts with the 110-member Rio Teachers Assn. and the 200-member California School Employees Assn. The contracts are retroactive to the beginning of the 1992-93 school year, district business manager Mary Anne McCabe said.
The increases, including a 1% salary raise, will cost the five-school district $246,884 over two years, McCabe said.
Under the new contract, teachers’ salaries will range from $24,930 to $46,467 a year.
