Eleven U.N. ballistic missile experts are preparing to travel to Iraq, team leader Nikita Smidovich said Thursday.

Smidovich, a Russian, said the team will leave for Baghdad today. He said it will concentrate on determining Iraq’s missile-production capability, including ability to manufacture gyroscopes, which are used to guide missiles, and liquid-fuel engines.

Under Persian Gulf War cease-fire terms, Iraq must dismantle its weapons of mass destruction.
