More than 500 Glendale Community College students...

More than 500 Glendale Community College students will graduate this year with associate degrees and 200 others will receive vocational certificates of completion during commencement ceremonies Saturday.

Newsman Larry McCormick of KTLA-TV will speak at the ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m. on the campus athletic field, 1500 N. Verdugo Road.

The college will also graduate 21 students from its registered nurse program and 35 students from its vocational nursing program at 7 p.m. June 17 in the campus auditorium.

About 400 bachelor’s and master’s degrees will be conferred at Occidental College on Sunday.

Actor Edward James Olmos will speak during ceremonies at 5:30 p.m. in the Remsen Bird Hillside Bowl on campus, 1600 Campus Road, Eagle Rock.

Los Angeles City College graduated 644 students with associate of arts degrees in ceremonies on May 27. Joe Dyer, director of community affairs for KCBS-TV, spoke to the graduates.

Glendale University College of Law held its 26th commencement last Sunday, conferring 24 doctorates and 31 bachelor’s degrees. Author and attorney Pierce O’Donnell spoke during the ceremony.
