Toxic Fumes Kill Two at Metal Smelting Plant

NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. —
Leaking carbon monoxide fumes at a metal smelting plant killed two workers and injured eight others Saturday, authorities said. A damper that regulates carbon monoxide flow was closed, trapping a large concentration of fumes in the room where the victims were working, officials said.
