World IN BRIEF : SOUTH AFRICA : Conservatives Stage Walkout From Talks
Six conservative groups--four black and two white--stormed out of South Africa’s democracy talks, declaring that their proposals were being ignored. The six, known as the Concerned South African Group, said they will consult their principals and be back at the talks Thursday. The main black enemies of the African National Congress--the Inkatha Freedom Party and the KwaZulu black homeland--led the walkout. The 20 remaining groups passed a resolution recommending that the first all-race elections be held April 27, 1994.
