Supreme Court Denies MCI Appeal: The decision lets stand an appeals court ruling that favored American Telephone & Telegraph Co. by concluding that all long-distance companies must publish their prices with the Federal Communications Commission. The FCC had previously required AT&T;, but not its rivals, to file rates with the agency. After AT&T; successfully appealed the policy, MCI then appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court to review the case. But the Justice Department, on behalf of the FCC, refused to support MCI in the appeal.
