Oltmans Builds Addition to Cable Firm’s Office

The Thousand Oaks unit of Oltmans Construction Co. is building an addition to Jones Intercable’s Palmdale office that will dwarf the facility’s original size. The new two-story structure, costing $4.7 million, will add 26,000 square feet to Jones’ 5,500-square-foot building.

Dudley Campbell, Oltmans project manager, said the new concrete tilt-up building will be joined to the older structure by a new lobby, where visitors will be able to observe Jones’ cable operations.

Oltmans is based in Whittier. Jones Intercable is based in Englewood, Colo., and has 65,000 cable TV subscribers in the Palmdale-Lancaster area.
