PICO-UNION : Avon Opens Its 1st West Coast Center

Avon Products Inc. has opened its first West Coast sales center in the Pep Boys auto center complex at Washington Boulevard and Hoover Street.

Could Manny, Moe and Jack be headed for beauty make-overs?

Not likely.

The new store is set up to serve the New York-based company’s 10,000 Los Angeles-area sales representatives and their customers. Avon representatives can now provide customers with same-day service by filling orders at the store.

The new store employs 20 and is open to Avon sales representatives and customers accompanied by their sales representatives.

Laura Estrada, sales director of the store, said many of the sales representatives and their families depend on the money they make selling to friends, relatives and co-workers.
