World IN BRIEF : VATICAN : Pope and Clinton to Hold Talks in Denver

Pope John Paul II will hold talks with President Clinton on the first day of his visit to the United States in August, the Vatican said. The Pope and Clinton will meet for the first time in Denver on Aug. 12, shortly after the pontiff arrives for a four-day stop arranged to coincide with the Roman Catholic Church’s World Youth Day. A schedule for the trip released by the Vatican said the Pope will celebrate three Masses and hold several youth rallies in Denver. He will also meet Catholic Vietnamese-Americans.
