R. Tyler Gatchell Jr.; Broadway Producer

R. Tyler Gatchell Jr., 50, Broadway manager who produced popular musicals by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Gatchell, who founded Gatchell & Neufeld Ltd. with Peter Neufeld in 1969, had been closely associated with Webber since they produced his “Jesus Christ Superstar” in 1971. The team also produced “Evita,” “Cats,” “Aspects of Love” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Webber has dedicated his newest production, “Sunset Boulevard,” to Gatchell. A native of Princeton, N.J., Gatchell co-produced more than 100 major theatrical productions, including “Sweeney Todd,” the original “Annie” and its new off-Broadway sequel, “Annie Warbucks.” On July 1 in New York of a heart attack.
