Lloyd’s of London Subject of Criminal Probe: Some financial dealings at the famous insurer, which is struggling to bounce back from billions in losses, are being scrutinized in the investigation. The Serious Fraud Office in London said it is checking transactions in a now-defunct Lloyd’s agency, Gooda Walker Ltd., where investors lost an estimated $1.5 billion. “It was assumed in the past (that losses) resulted from negligence or ignorance,” said Lloyd’s spokeswoman Faeth Finnemore.
