Police deactivated a letter bomb at the home of Supreme Court Chief Justice Gonzalo Rodriguez Corro, just three hours after a similar bomb exploded at the high court’s headquarters Monday, Radio Caracas reported.

A 27-year-old Supreme Court employee, Hugo Betancourt, lost his left hand when he opened the first letter. In addition to the bomb at the chief justice’s home, two other letter bombs were defused Monday, one at the court and one outside the court.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the bombs. The high court is about to begin a corruption case against suspended President Carlos Andres Perez on charges of embezzlement and misuse of public funds.
