Arcadia : City Mulls Review Board

Share

In an effort to prevent the “mansionization” of Arcadia, the City Council is considering establishing an architectural review board.

City officials say they have received numerous complaints about homes under construction that are larger and of a different style than most Arcadia homes, particularly in the southern part of the city.

A special committee established to set guidelines for the proposed board issued its report last week.

The report outlines plans for a five-member panel to review new homes, second-story additions or any other additions visible from the street in areas of the city not already covered by a homeowners association. Such associations represent fewer than 3,000 of the city’s nearly 12,000 homeowners.
