A memorial service for Carlton E. Morse, creator of the radio dramas “One Man’s Family” and “I Love a Mystery,” will be conducted Sunday in Los Angeles by the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters and the Society to Preserve and Encourage Radio Drama, Variety and Comedy. Morse died May 24 in Sacramento at the age of 91.

The service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in Founders Church Holmes Chapel, 3281 W. 6th St., and will be followed by a reception.

Participants will include Barbara Fuller, Peggy Weber and other original cast members of the NBC serial “One Man’s Family,” which had a 27-year run, the longest of any serial in radio history. Dresser Dahlstead, announcer for all of Morse’s dramas, Burgess Meredith and other actors from the golden age of radio will join Morse’s wife, Millie, and daughter, Mary, for the service.
