Mexico plans to reforest at least 276,640 acres of forests and tropical jungle in 1993, a government environmental official said Friday.

Jorge de la Vega Dominguez made the comments at the launching of a state forestry committee in the state capital of Guerrero.

A start-up budget of $32,000 does not include the $647,000 that the Guerrero state government plans to spend on reforestation, the news agency Notimex said.
