Day Runner Inc.: The Fullerton manufacturer of personal organizers reported a second-quarter profit of $308,000, or 5 cents a share, down 21% from earnings of $392,000, or 7 cents a share, for the 1992 second quarter. Sales rose 4% to $14 million from $13.4 million. Profit for the first half was $1.1 million, or 18 cents a share, compared to earnings of $833,000, or 15 cents a share, for the first six months of 1992. Income for the 1993 period included a one-time gain of $350,000 from an accounting change. Six-month sales increased slightly to $28 million from $27.9 million.
