Woman Pleads Guilty to Lying About Pepsi Syringe

A woman pleaded guilty Thursday to falsely reporting a syringe in a Pepsi can during a nationwide product-tampering scare. Katherine Wuerl, 30, made her plea in U.S. District Court as part of an agreement with prosecutors, who recommended no more than 12 months in prison. Sentencing was set for Oct. 19.
