Gay Ex-Soldiers Elicit Peer Pride

Please accept the thanks of veterans for the well-researched story “Gay Ex-Soldiers: The Battle at Home” (July 21).

As the President has pointed out recently, people who know gays and lesbians understand that we are not the caricatures portrayed by religious terrorists and prejudiced persons. My gay and lesbian peers have enormous courage and I am proud of them.
