Diamond Bar : 11 Vie for 3 Council Seats

Eleven candidates, including three incumbents, are vying for three seats on the Diamond Bar City Council in the Nov. 2 election.

The incumbents who have filed for reelection are Councilmen John Forbing, Gary Werner and Dexter MacBride, who was appointed to the council in December.

Challengers for the three seats, each of which carries a four-year term, are: Eileen Ansari, 50, a community volunteer; Nick Anis, 38, a community volunteer and writer specializing in computers; Clair Harmony, 52, a businessman and public administrator; Bob Chiu, 49, a businessman and company executive; Jong Lee, a dentist; Thomas Ortiz, 59, a retired law enforcement officer; Jim Paul, 53, a retired firefighter; and James Roberts, 22, a student at Cal Poly Pomona.

The four-year seats held by Mayor Gary G. Miller and Mayor Pro Tem Phyllis Papen expire in November, 1995.
