The Region : Chorus to Perform in Italy

Members of the Verdugo Hills Showtime Chorus will travel to Italy on Friday for a two-week tour.
The Glendale-La Crescenta area group will perform in a series of festival concerts in Rome, Sorrento, Assisi, Pisa, Venice, Reggio Emelia and visit other cities. One performance will feature an Italian medley of “Sorrento,” “O Sole Mio” and “Funiculi Funicula.”
The 130-member chorus is a branch of Sweet Adelines, an international organization with more than 30,000 members representing Canada, England, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and Australia. Fifty members of the chorus will make the trip to Italy.
The choral group is the Region 11 gold medalist, and will represent the region in the 1994 international competition in Reno. Women who enjoy singing four-part harmony are invited to attend rehearsals at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the Masonic Temple, La Crescenta and Montrose avenues in La Crescenta. Information: (818) 332-6778.
