Chinese Woman Finds Lots to Chew Over
Health authorities in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, in central China have discovered a woman who likes the taste of rubber so much she has eaten more than 800 rubber nipples for baby feeding bottles since 1990.
The official Economic Evening News reported that the woman, in her mid-30s, developed a taste for rubber three years ago.
“One day she chewed a rubber nipple to pieces and swallowed,” the newspaper said in a report seen Monday. After that, she ate more than 800 of them.
“It’s said all the woman’s family members like the smell of rubber, and her younger brother is fond of eating rubber bands,” the newspaper reported.
