Hill International Overseas to Manage Armenian Plant
Hill International Overseas Inc. said Tuesday that it has won a $250-million contract to manage an electrical power plant in Armenia.
Frederic Z. Samelian, president of Hill International Overseas in Newport Beach, will direct work on the Hrazdan Power Plant project, Armenia’s first major project since achieving independence in 1991.
“We’re pretty excited about it,” Samelian said. “It’s a critical project for the Armenian people.”
Started in 1989, the power project was halted after the breakup of the Soviet Union. The Armenian people have electricity for only two hours a day on average, Samelian said.
Hill International Overseas is a subsidiary of Hill International Inc., a construction-consulting company based in Willingboro, N.J.
