16 Youths Complete Summer Jobs Program

Sixteen San Gabriel Valley high school students participated in Kaiser Permanente’s Summer Youth Program this year. The six-week program began July 6 and ran through Aug. 13.

Students are placed in Kaiser Permanente’s San Gabriel Valley facilities where they observe a variety of departments ranging from family practice to administration to pharmacy.

In addition, students also attend a series of job search workshops and career awareness presentations.

Students participating in the program include: April Muggelberg and Sandra Nunez from Baldwin Park High School; Dixie Gill from Coronado Continuing Education School; Veronica Rocha from Gladstone High School; Myrna Gamez from San Dimas High School; Lawrence Martinez and Nhi (Tracy) Tu from Schurr High School; Bertha Gomez, Leticia Jauregui, Michael Morales and Angelica Rodriguez from Sierra Madre High School; Karen Ku from Temple City High School, and Dagoberto (Jesse) Arvizu, Teresa Chang, Elena Heraldez, and Hai Nguyen from West Covina High School.

The Kaiser Permanente Summer Youth Employment Program, in its 25th year, has provided summer employment for nearly 3,900 Southern California economically disadvantaged high school students.
