World IN BRIEF : EGYPT : 20 Seized in Plot to Kill Interior Minister
Egyptian security forces have rounded up 20 Muslim militant suspects in connection with an attempt to kill the interior minister, but the only suspect captured alive at the scene has died of wounds, leaving authorities groping for clues. The Muslim militant group Al Jihad (Holy Struggle) claimed responsibility for the assassination attempt on Egyptian Interior Minister Hassan Alfi in Cairo. Nazih Nushi Rashed, who police said was one of the attackers, died of his bomb wounds in a hospital before police could learn any details of the attack from him.
