World IN BRIEF : SOUTH AFRICA : Woman Killed in Racial Attacks
Black attackers killed a white woman and wounded her father in South Africa’s third racial attack in three days, police said. Donne Meyers, 21, was found shot to death on the side of a road in the Transkei black homeland in eastern South Africa on Friday night. Gunmen had shot her father and kidnaped her in the family’s van. Two suspects were arrested. On Wednesday, black youths killed a white American woman in a black township near Cape Town, and early Friday gunmen wounded eight people when they fired on a bus normally used by whites in Beaufort West, 280 miles northeast of Cape Town.
