MOORPARK : Litton to Relocate 350 Into Building

Share

Litton Industries has announced plans to temporarily relocate about 350 engineers into the vacant Moorpark building formerly occupied by the Litton Aero Products division.

The workers from the company’s Data Systems Division are expected to arrive by the end of October and will stay only as long as it takes the company to sell the 144,000-square-foot Moorpark facility it abandoned late last year in a cost-cutting consolidation, said company spokesman Bob Knapp.

About 575 workers from Litton’s Aero Products Division were transferred at that time, Knapp said.

Moorpark Mayor Paul Lawrason on Thursday welcomed the company’s plan to return to Condor Drive.

Knapp said the move back to Moorpark was made necessary by the sale of the Van Nuys facility where the 350 workers were housed. Early last year, about 1,000 employees of the Data Systems Division were moved from Van Nuys to Agoura Hills, where the division is currently based.
