U.S. Firms to Invest $600 Million: American companies, bullish over the Asian nation’s economic prospects, plan to invest in power and manufacturing projects over the next three years, according to U.S. executives in the Philippines. “American firms are confident about the prospects under the Ramos Administration,” Robert Sears, executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, told Reuters last week. He said the confidence stems from the continued liberalization of the economy and political stability.
