Boys who play on ice hockey teams behaved worse than other pupils at school, possibly because they were taught to win at all costs, according to a survey of eight junior schools in southern Sweden.

In the survey, conducted by Roland Jansson, headmaster of Grimslov school in Vaxjo, teachers found that the ice hockey players were less responsible and considerate than other pupils, the Swedish news agency TT reported Saturday.

“There are few real leaders in the sports clubs and very few women. Men focus more on achievement, they often care only about the first team and the results,” Jansson was quoted as saying.
