Biomerica Says 2 Medical Test Products Are Being Distributed Nationally

Biomerica Inc., a maker of home medical testing products, said Tuesday that two of its products are being distributed nationally by McKesson Drug Corp. to about 1,400 pharmacies.

The Newport Beach company said its EZ Detect Stool Blood Test and EZ Detect Urine Blood Test, both of which provide warning signs of cancer and other diseases, are being offered to pharmacies through McKesson’s network of 40 distribution centers.

Joseph Irani, Biomerica’s president, said the arrangement will significantly increase the company’s presence beyond its current outlets, which include K mart, CVS and other national and regional drug and discount chains.

Irani said his company also expects to have ovulation and pregnancy home testing products available soon and is working on a yeast infection testing kit. All the products would be shipped through McKesson as well as the company’s own distribution network, he said.
