Honda to Manufacture Accords, Civics in U.S.: Honda Motor Co. plans to produce all its Accords and Civics sold in the United States at its plants in Ohio, the New York Times said in today’s editions. The move is designed to help the auto maker offset the rising value of the yen and ease trade tensions with the United States, the newspaper said. Honda already makes about 400,000 Accords and 250,000 Civics a year at its plants in East Liberty and Marysville, Ohio. A much smaller number sold in the United States in 1992--60,000 Accords and 20,000 Civics--were actually made in Japan and exported to the United States.
