British Economic Figures Revised Upward: The nation’s economy is growing at a faster rate than previously thought, according to the revised data issued by the Central Statistical Office. It said gross domestic product grew by 0.6% in the second quarter of 1993 rather than the 0.5% estimated earlier, pushing year-on-year growth up to 2% rather than 1.5%. Other data shows that Britain’s trade deficit fell to $4.13 billion in the second quarter from $4.61 billion in the first.
