Arafat in Beijing for Talks on Peace Plan

BEIJING —
Palestine Liberation Organization Chairman Yasser Arafat arrived Wednesday in Beijing to brief Chinese leaders on the new Middle East peace plan he signed last week in Washington with Israel.
Arafat was officially welcomed by President Jiang Zemin at the Great Hall of the People, after which the two held about 40 minutes of talks.
