From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The United Nations said that the corpses of 66 Serbs, many of them charred and dismembered, were recovered after a Croatian army incursion into a rebel Serbian enclave. U.N. Protection Force officers said that many of the bodies appeared to have been civilians, but confirmation was not immediately possible because they were in such dreadful condition. U.N. soldiers recovered 14 bodies, and the Croatian army returned the rest to the Serbs after handing over to U.N. control three villages seized in the Croatian thrust across a U.N. cease-fire line into Serb-held territory.
