Israel-PLO Meetings May Be Held in Cairo

CAIRO —
Detailed negotiations between the Palestine Liberation Organization and Israel on an Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank town of Jericho may take place in Cairo, a senior PLO official said Thursday.
Nabil Shaath said a Palestinian delegation will continue to attend rounds of Middle East talks in Washington to work out a detailed agreement on the powers of a Palestinian self-rule council to be elected next year.
