Louisville Doesn’t Waste Time in Posting 41-10 Rout of Texas

On the second play of the game, Jeff Brohm connected with running back Ralph Dawkins on an 80-yard touchdown pass play, and that set the tone as No. 24 Louisville routed Texas, 41-10, Saturday.

Dawkins finished the game with 117 rushing yards and three receptions for 95 yards.

Brohm, who had a career-high 331 passing yards last week in a 35-17 victory over Arizona State, was 14 of 24 for 293 yards.

Running back Anthony Shelman rushed for two touchdowns for the Cardinals (4-0), who are off to their best start in 21 years. Theywere 6-0 in 1972 en route to a 9-1 season.

The Cardinals, who gained 560 yards, have been tough to stop this season, especially near opposing end zone. They have scored 14 of 17 times inside the opposition’s 20, with 11 touchdowns and three field goals.
