Canoe Club Wins Race in Hawaii
OffShore Outrigger Canoe Club of Newport Beach won the Bankoh Na Wahine O Ke Kai (Women of the Sea), a race Sunday from Molokai to Oahu, Hawaii.
OffShore finished the 41-mile race in 5 hours 47 minutes 53 seconds, nearly seven minutes ahead of runner-up Outrigger of Oahu. OffShore, with Mindy Clark, Leslie Davis, Dru Van Hengel, Anna Olssen, Sheila Conover, Sheila Beuler, Suzanne Rosenquist, Lesline Conner, Sharon Attlesey, Cathy Hern, Shelley Oats and JoJo Toeppner, won the 15-year-old event for the seventh time.
