World IN BRIEF : BOSNIA : Muslim Leader Cites Nation’s Dire Choice

Bosnia’s Muslim president offered his people a bleak choice: Sign an “unjust peace” or be starved into defeat by another winter of war. Alija Izetbegovic outlined the dilemma to the Bosnian Muslim Convention--about 350 people representing Bosnia’s ethnic groups. Muslims, the only members with voting rights, are expected to cast ballots on the plan today; it would divide the country into three ethnically based ministates. Parliament would then meet to cast the final vote.
