Cable Show Segment Focuses on O.C. Scene

An installment of the program “ArtsBreak,” featuring arts groups and institutions in Newport Beach and Irvine, will debut on the Bravo cable network today at 3:30 p.m. The segment, taped in July, focuses on the Irvine Barclay Theatre, the Orange County Chamber Orchestra, the Newport Harbor Art Museum and the Arpana Dance Co. Bravo is available only in parts of the county. The program will repeat Oct. 23 at 3:30 p.m.

FREEDMAN GRANTS: The Anaheim-based Leo Freedman Foundation has announced another round of 1993 grants to local institutions. The recipients and their grants are: Cal State Fullerton Fine Arts Department, a four-year grant totaling $35,600; Opera Pacific, $35,000; Anaheim’s Community Foundation, $30,000; Master Chorale of Orange County, $22,800; Laguna Playhouse, $17,850; UC Irvine School of Fine Arts, $15,000; Ballet Pacifica, $10,000; Anaheim Arts Council, $10,000.
