Boeing Postpones 5,000 Job Cuts: Boeing Co. postponed the cuts indefinitely, easing the pinch on Wichita, Kan., and the Seattle area. No single development, project or area within the company is responsible for the shift, Boeing spokesman Patrick Palmer said. The postponement lowers the company’s planned work force reduction by 18% through mid-1994. Five thousand job cuts planned in 1993 have been postponed until the first half of next year, and 5,000 that had been scheduled between Jan. 1 and June 30 are now on hold indefinitely, Palmer said.
