BOYLE HEIGHTS : Seminar Offered on Breast Cancer
White Memorial Medical Center’s Women’s Services Department will present a free seminar on mammography and breast cancer at noon Thursday at the center.
Doctors will outline the procedure for a mammogram, which is used to detect breast cancer for women 35 and older. Women have a 1-in-9 chance of developing breast cancer, but when treated early, it is 90% curable.
The presentation is part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month, the medical center, at 1720 Brooklyn Ave., will offer mammograms for women 35 and older for $55.
Information: (213) 265-5050.
