TUNIS : Stamp of Approval

Share

The Palestine Liberation Organization’s 87-member Central Council will be asked to give its blessing to last month’s interim peace agreement with Israel when it meets Sunday in the Tunisian capital.

Even more important than signing off on the peace plan, the Central Council will decide the details of a transitional Palestinian government to rule in the West Bank town of Jericho and the Gaza Strip after Israeli troops begin to withdraw in mid-December.

Also in Tunis next week, Israel and the PLO will participate in a multilateral working group on the crucial question of the future for millions of Palestinian refugees now scattered throughout Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and elsewhere in the world.
