Testimony in the Menendez brothers’ murder trial was postponed Thursday because a prosecutor was ill.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Lester Kuriyama, who was due to wrap up his cross-examination of Erik Menendez, could not shake the flu, Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Stanley M. Weisberg told jurors. Court had recessed early Wednesday because Kuriyama fell ill.

The judge said he expected Kuriyama back in court today.

Erik Menendez, 22, and his brother, Lyle Menendez, 25, are charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 20, 1989, slayings of their parents, Jose Menendez, 45, a wealthy entertainment executive, and Kitty Menendez, 47.
